Quarantine has got me doing all sorts of things Ive been wanting for a while: reading, studying, drawing, cooking, practicing mental health, getting informed about global warming, reflecting and…. making cocktails.
The original “Quarantini”
Lemon, cucumber & mint

Ingredients
- 2oz / 50ml gin
- 1oz / 25ml lemon juice
- 75oz / 20ml simple syrup (mix same amount of sugar and hot water)
- 3 cucumber slices + one more for garnish
- mint leaves
- Lemon swirl
Instructions
- Put the cucumbers and mint in a shaker, press them with a spoon
- Add the gin, lemon juice and syrup and ice
- Shake for 20-30 seconds
- Strain into a glass of your choice, garnish with a slice of cucumber and the lemon swirl on top!
The “Mayooshi” Martini
Passionfruit & blueberry

Ingredients
- 2oz / 50ml gin
- 1oz / 25ml lemon juice
- 50oz / 15ml passionfruit monin syrup (or make it yourself here)
- Blueberries (I use frozen ones)
Instructions
- Put the gin, lemon juice and syrup into a shaker with ice
- Shake for 20-30 seconds
- Strain into a martini glass (or a glass of your choice)
- for the garnish – take a wooden stick and poke the blueberries through one by one, then lay inside the cocktail
The “What day is it?”
Pinapple + coconut

Ingredients
- 1.5oz / 50ml rum
- 2oz / 50ml pineapple juice (buy it or make it fresh – I put some slices in a blender)
- 2oz / 50ml orange juice
- 75oz / 20ml coconut cream
- mint leaves
- for the garnish – pineapple slices
Instructions
- Put the rum, pinappple juice, orange juice and coconut cream in a shaker with ice
- Shake for 20-30 seconds
- Pour into a glass with ice and mint (do not strain, the bits of coconut and pinapple need to stay)
- for the garnish – wooden stick with pineapple slices.
The “none of this is happening” Martini
Raspberry & strawberry martini

Ingredients
- 2oz / 50ml gin
- 1oz / 25ml lemon juice
- 75oz / 20ml raspberry & strawberry syrup
- for the garnish – white sugar
For the syrup
- 1/2 cup raspberries (I used frozen)
- 1/2 cup strawberries (I used frozen)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
Instructions
To make the syrup
- Put all ingredients together into a saucepan and bring to boil
- Stir on medium heat until it thickens – you know its ready when it covers your spoon like a glaze (about 5-7 minutes)
For the cocktail
- Put the gin, lemon juice and syrup into a shaker with ice
- Shake for 20-30 seconds
- Strain into a martini glass (or a glass of your choice)
- for the garnish – mix together white sugar (about 1/4 cup) with 1 teaspoon of the syrup. Dip the top of glass for a nice coated edge
The “weekend every day”
Grapefruit, Rośe & Tequila

Ingredients
- 2oz / 50ml Tequila
- 2oz / 50ml grapefruit juice
- 1oz / 25ml lemon juice
- 1oz / 25ml Rośe wine
- for the garnish – 2 slices of green Jalapeno, thyme leave, coconut sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Put the Tequila, grapefruit juice, lemon juice and rośe in a shaker with ice
- Shake for 20-30 seconds
- Strain into a glass with ice
- for the garnish – lay the jalapenos and thyme and sprinkle the coconut sugar on top
